I was born and raised in Southern Colorado where I was homeschooled for the large majority of my childhood. I was fortunate to witness the wonder of experiential, nature-based learning. My love for the outdoors and natural beauty in our world was deeply cultivated. Art and creativity have always been rooted into my day to day life and as an adult I have encompassed creativity into every professional application.
I have spent the last four years involved with Mountain Oak Community School as a parent and substitute teacher. Prior to making Prescott my home I was located in Central Oregon where I worked at The Waldorf School of Bend. Meanwhile, I furthered my education studying early childhood and anthroposophy with The Micha-el Institute in the Pacific Northwest.
I love seeing children inspired and believe that education should be an engaging, hands-on experience. Children should still feel a sense of wonder and imagination every day in our world today. It is my goal for them to find pride and internal strength in their accomplishments. I believe that children enjoy learning when they feel that they can master a skill and as a teacher my philosophy is to meet them where they are at to create an engaging experience. It is important as a teacher to find the delicate balance where they can be challenged while finding enjoyment each day learning new skills. I enjoy bringing the arts through Handwork to your children!
